thank you Cliff, I sincerely hoped you liked the idea (and YOU took care of it :-) )

small sidenote.. you wrote "use the ytube tag" on the header.

EDIT: I also wonder if it could be nice to group the videos by tune (it will for sure be extra work for you). This way we will have all the "tequila" version close toegether, same for the zelda stuff, and so on. Just another idea (after all, it's you to do the job, not me)

Thank you,

Hey Ubizmo, I just finally say your song of time, very AWESOME..I liked the jazzy riffing at the end! You have a very unique style and those diffferent techniques sound really cool. Keep pumping out those tunes. Dan!

I like how those are arranged, it's really easy to skip between them to watch different videos.

Here's "Tapion's Theme" from the Zelda game, which I've never played.  But I've heard enough of it online to play it, and it's a very nice melody.  From the "car studio" again.

Cliff Edit: added to main post above

A simple song but just wanted to dedicate it to all those affected by the current military conflicts here and abroad and their families/loved ones! You rock!

Hi, Cliff.

I posted my very first YouTube video last night.  I'm not sure how to "embed" it (sorry -- I still have a lot to learn) but this is the URL link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGgNFZ5YMTk
It's not the best quality (or playing) but I hope it will get easier as I figure things out and pick up tips from other Forum members about easy-to-use software, etc.

I was THRILLED to receive my hardwood C Mountain Ocarina in this morning's mail!!  Early Christmas...or Valentine's Day, I should say (my sweet husband).  I couldn't resist blowing a scale while in my tiny office, but I'll need to wait to get outside during lunch to really try it out and play a song.  I've been carrying it around in my pocket all morning (not standard office wear).  It's a beautiful instrument and it does sound a little mellower/softer to me, compared to the polycarbonate.

Merry Christmas to everyone in the MO company -- you folks are great!!

RecorderSue,
Congratulations on your first video you made! I was a little nervous at first to post my first one but I figured at least it will be a way to document my progress on the ocarina. I was really excited when i got my hardwood C ocarina and I really enjoy it's great tone and attractive look! I feel the same way about my warmstone G also, both are very cool and great quality. Have a nice holiday yourself. Sincerely, Dan

Susan,

That was great! Thanks for posting. You're pretty high tech... mixed in the accompaniment as well. I'm impressed. I've never done that myself. One more video and you'll be ahead of me Smiley Is Zena your dancing dog?

Thanks for the encouraging words, Dan.  From the number of posts you and the other core forum members put out so fearlessly now, I'd never guess that you were ever nervous about it!  You make a good point about being able to document one's progress by making these video clips.  I'll keep trying.

Cliff, it's been interesting to see what some of these free or cheap audio/music software programs can do, even at a beginner's level.  With your computer background I'm sure you can make much more sophisticated productions.  Yes, that's our spirited part-Boxer, Zena (Bozena is her full name).  I figured she would make the video more fun to watch, and that her dance fits in (sort of) with the theme of that cantiga (a ballad about the miraculous healing of a lame man).

I'm wondering... Do you have to custom order hardwoods or are they made in batches? Cuz I've seen a few people get them and never saw any on the availability page.

Edit: RecorderSue, I just watched your video and I really like it. You already had some background with wind instruments right? It shows!

A few notes:

1. I have a waiting list... that some people have been on for a *long* time

2. We make them in batches, and they become available in batches

3. We have had some hardwoods become available. None have ever been posted as being available. We have had many more WarmStones completed in recent batches

4. With the way that the hardwoods have become available, my list, etc. I haven't handled the hardwood availability in any kind of a neat, organized way.

5. Within the next couple of months or so I hope to have a good selection of hardwoods available for anyone/everyone to choose from on our site

6. If you want a hardwood now, please email me (info at mountain ocarinas) or PM me
