Microphone for recording and live

What would be a good microphone for the Ocarina that will work well for both recording and for live playing that won't put me in the poor house?
I have a Sure SM 58 that I have thought about trying but I am thinking it would have to be way to close to the MO (too much wind noise) to get good sound reproduction. Any suggestions? I will most likely playing my first song in public on the MO is a couple of weeks.
