I've been threatening to post a video for a while ... I doubt it was worth the wait, but, for what it's worth, here's my take on "Eibhli Gheal Chiuin ni Chearbhaill", played on my "baroquified" C Mountain Ocarina

EDIT : ... not sure the embedded link is working ... try this - http://youtu.be/OlvvGXK3DBM

Kypfer,

That was really nice, definitely worth the wait! Thanks for sharing. Also I edited the embed so that it worked. It is a little quirky how it works.

... I know it from John Martyn's "Inside Out" album, but it's almost certainly a lot older than that, possibly a bagpipe tune, though not necessarily Scottish.

I did a little google search on the tune and I found it on this site of Celtic tunes:

http://www.celticscores.com/sheet-music/145_The_Fairy_Lady_of_Loch_Laerne_-_Eibhli_Gheal_Chiuin_ni_Chearbhaill

It also had this translation of the title:
The Fairy Lady of Loch Laerne - Eibhli Gheal Chiuin ni Chearbhaill

I thought it sounded Celtic but I am certainly no expert on that genera of music.   I enjoy listening to it but it is not something that I play very much.

Very good, Kypfer, I enjoyed that. How long have you been playing?

... I aquired my second-hand Mountain Ocarinas last June, having taken up woodwind in general the previous September (or thereabouts), so, in total, a little under 18 months. Because of noise issues, I don't get to practice on my Ocarinas as much as I'd like, but I have made an "ultra-quiet" 8-hole whistle which serves as a general-purpose practice instrument. Time when I can "make noise" tends to be divided between clarinet, flute, my Ocarinas ... and the vacuum cleaner  Wink
