Hi All,

New guy here from rainy California. The rain has only been with us a few days and I already miss the sunshine. Today I placed my orders for the Polycarbonate combo set and Learning to Play Mountain Ocarinas. I have never learned to play an instrument before so I'm looking forward to learning to play the MO. I got the bug when this past weekend at an arts and crafts fair my wife and I bought the kids ocarinas. The kids are having so much fun learning to play I wanted to get into the act. Can't wait until the package arrives.  Grin

Welcome to the forums and to the ocarina.  I am glad that you didn't get one of those craft fair ocarinas, they have a horrible reputation for quality.

What kind of music do you aspire  to play?

I really haven't given that much thought as to what kind of music I aspire to play. I do enjoy folk music from the likes of Peter, Paul and Mary, The Weavers and Pete Seeger to name a few. I also like rock, jazz and classical.

Plenty to choose from there. Maybe start with This Land is Your Land. That's a good starter tune.

Welcome to the forum!

I like playing Hymns on mine.  I also like playing older music. (Older music being music that is at least 60+ years old. Smiley )

It is great to have you here.  There is a wealth of information and experience on the forum.

Thank you. I can't wait to learn to play. I've been checking out YouTube. Lots of great music for the ocarina covered. I had no idea.
