So what do you think are the most ocarinable Elton John songs? I was playing "Rocket Man" in the parking lot today, and that sounded okay. What else would you recommend?

How about "Funeral for a Friend" or "Goodbye yellow brick road".  Since my knowledge of music is limited I wouldn't know if they are in range.  I just always liked "Funeral for a Friend" since I heard it during a fireworks show in Gainesville, FL in the middle 80's.

"Goodbye" and "Your song" should work okay, I think.  I'm not sure about "Funeral."  I'll do some experimenting.  Elton John wrote great songs, with a lot of melody, and a lot of them should work pretty well.
