I'm glad you liked it, Karl. The backing track I used was more in the style of the original Tito Puente, rather than Santana. I kinda wish it had been more like the Santana. I have a midi of the Santana arrangement, but midis are seldom as good as real musicians. But Santana has some nice touches, such as heavy accented quarter note triplets before the solos. Oh well, it came out okay. In retrospect, I could have done a better job mixing. Mixing is always a challenge. I have several different headsets, and one pair of lame speakers, and things sound different on each, so I don't know exactly how it's going to come out.

I think Comment #5 on MO's Facebook Wall sums it up the video pretty well:

"That's it. I'm getting a Mountain Oc"

Another golden oldie. I had my doubts about whether this song would be playable on the ocarina. I still have them.

I don't. Don't know if anyone else would pull it off, though  Smiley

I haven't put up a YouTube in ages--life gets busy sometimes. But I've been playing every day. So here's one that I meant to record a few months back, but other stuff kept distracting me.

Satin Doll

It ain't Zelda, but it's a great old tune.

Great Job.   Keep on playing those wonderful jazz standards.   I am sick of all the zelda crap that some of the kids have been posting on utube.

You know, there's a sweet old tune from the "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang" film, "Hushabye Mountain"--a lullaby. It works beautifully on the ocarina, but would sound better with some sort of accompaniment. I've found one midi file out there, but it's pretty bad. I'm going to see if I can enhance it a little, but I'd really like to find something better.

I did a quick google search and got a few hits including some karaoke files that I don't know if those would work for you or not.  It has been years since I have watched that movie so I don't recall the song.

Yet another Beatles cover:

Good Day Sunshine

Life has been hectic. Eventually I'll get around to some more interesting music.

Happy New Year!

It's been quite a while since I posted a video. Life can get hectic. But here's a new one; nothing special, just some more classic rock.

You're No Good.
